About two months ago, Tokyo Metropolis magazine did an article about the Japanese Miss Universe, Riyo Mori. Obviously, she's Miss Universe so she's not bad looking. But she's pretty in that Hooter's-waitress way that I think most beauty pageant winners are. I like a more natural look. My friend asked me who I think the prettiest famous girl in Japan is, and I thought for a while and came up with Aoi Yuu.
I think Aoi Yuu is the prettiest famous girl in Japan. She has perfect skin and a sweet smile and interesting clothing. Her movies sometimes have English subtitles. I like her the best.
Who is the most handsome famous man in Japan?
Who is the most beautiful famous woman in Japan?

I think the woman who played Hatsumomo in Memiors of a Geisha is absolutely gorgeous.
Hmmm... that was Gong Li and she's Chinese. But I agree with you that she's gorgeous.
Actually, I remember reading about so many controversies about choosing almost all Chinese actors (Zhang Ziyi, Gong Li, and Michelle Yeoh) to play Japanese Characters. And now "The next karate kid" remake will be all filmed in China with Chinese actors.I wonder why?
Is it because Chinese actors are more big-name famous overseas? Is it the English factor? I never saw Memoirs of a Geisha because I'm not interested in it, but Zhang Ziyi is probably the most beautiful famous person in the whole world.
I think Yusuke Iseya is rather attractive..but it's kind of on/off for me. Sometimes he looks very attractive, other times he can look a bit haggard.
Ryo Kase is handsome, too.
I don't know who Aoi Yuu is, but she looks really pretty...and I love her outfit in the second photo! It makes me want to befriend her.
I don't really have a Japanese female celebrity that I think is the most beautiful..maybe Yukie Nakama, though I find her somewhat boring.
The most handsome famous man in Japan - Matsumoto Jun.
Most beautiful famous woman is so hard - I find the female characters in Japanese dramas etc are often so passive, it bugs me and that influences how I see the actor. I do love Maki Horikita though, cute and seems to get good roles too.
I think Tsuchiya Anna is very beautiful. Otsuki Kenji is very handsome too. But that's just me...I have eclectic tastes. :)
Woman: Toda Erika
Male: Yamashita Tomohisa
A little on the youthful side, but I just love these two people. ♥
I'm living in Japan (Kyushu) too, as an exchange student. :) Visiting Tokyo next month (finally) and can't wait.
Yusuke Iseya is awesome!
But you're right. sometimes he looks really haggard. I love him in that movie where he's an art student. Aoi Yuu is in that, too. He dresses really nicely in that movie.
Matsumoto Jun is handsome if you're a 12 year old. My opinion only. His picture is all over the train stations in cell phone ads. Not a fan.
I think Satoshi Tsumabuki is handsome. I really like his smile.
Anna Tsuchiya is sexy, but I don't like Japanese girls with blonde hair. I think that people look nicer with natural hair and makeup.
The Chinese people have not forgotten the atrocities committed by the Japanese army and therefore view the Chinese actresses who played Japanese characters as traitors.
You don't have to post as an anonymous to say that. You're not writing anything anyone doesn't already know. Also, the same year that movie was released, Japan had a leader who regularly went to the Yasukuni shrine. So obviously it was touchy.
I actually do not think this guy is famous but I recently saw a movie called Who's Camus Anyway? and I thought Shinnosuke Abe (not the baseball player) who played Motosugi (the one with the mohawk) was pretty handsome. Like I said, I do not think he is famous as his resume is really short but I thought he was strikingly different looking than many of the Japanese actors I have seen. He is certainly not as much of a pretty boy as the main actor, Shuuji Kashiwabara.
I am really out of touch with Japanese actresses and singers these days. I honestly have no idea who is attractive anymore. Meisa Kuroki, who was also in the aforementioned movie, is pretty but is she the prettiest? Probably not.
For men, I find Odagiri Joe quite handsome, he's also a great actor (I discovered him in "Tôkyô tawâ: Okan to boku to, tokidoki, oton" and really liked both the movie and his performance; I really recommend it)
For women, I find Aragaki Yui both natural and beautiful with an amazing smile. To me she is one of the prettiest out there. I dont really like her recent TV series choices but I enjoyed watching "Papa to musume no nanokakan" as well as the movie with Rinko Kikuchi "Koisuru Madori".
i personally have a huge crush on yôsuke kubozuka.
aoi yu was so adorable in "hito no sex wo warauna" or, "don't laugh at my romance" with matsuyama kenichi.
Aoi Yuu is my fave too.
