Japanese Xmas Songs

Why is it that every Japanese person's favorite xmas song is either "Last Christmas" by Wham or "All I want for xmas is you" by Mariah Carey. Why.
WHY

I personally like "Oh Holy Night" or something from The Carpenters.

But actually, after 3 years of working in a record store over xmas, I got tired of xmas music... This is the first year I have been able to listen to any xmas music at all.

I get very sick of Christmas music. ...And of the TWO Chanukah songs out there. As much as I "love" Adam Sandler's "Hanukkah Song" and "Hanukkah Song II," I'd like to hear something else on the radio, please. Oh, and "Dreidel Dreidel." How could I forget?

"All I want for Christmas" and "Last Christmas" are all over the Japanese blogosphere right now. You're not the only foreigner sick of them, at least. :)

Oh god! I can't stand any of Mariah Carey's christmas music. My american friends play nothing else at the moment. There also all these really annoying Thai remixes of carols playing everywhere. You know the kind recorded with a midi player? Ugh! I normally like carols but this year has been a bit ridiculous.

you know what`s funny about that? all over the world, where English not as mother language go "crazy" on LAST XMAS. In Germany it´s the same! Every year, every xmas you hear all the time from radio only from"Last Xmas". I think they are either too lazy for a new try, so they play it as standard programm automatically or people need the moledy to realize that it´s time for xmas.
But hey, what about this xmas?
-for that you must wait till next xmas! :-p
