I see a lot of Japanese girls everywhere with blond hair and I think it looks really cute. I like the acid-wash jumper on the second girl, too. I got these pictures from ApparelWeb which isn't a great site for Tokyo street fashion, but to tell you the truth, I haven't found any good Tokyo street fashion sites. Do you know of any good ones? I'd make one, but I'm too shy to ask people if I can take their pictures.
Some hair stylists over here must be just excellent because it's really hard to get a good, natural looking blond color on black hair without anything turning orange. My natural hair color is light brown, and even I have had some hideous orange moments at salons.
Surprisingly, I find it's pretty hard to pick out someone dressed really well here. I think it's just that overall, Japanese people here tend to dress really nicely and it's more that you notice a single aspect of their outfit, not an entire outfit. I tend to think "Oh! I love her/his shoes/necklace/dress/hair" rather than loving the entire thing. People are big on accessories here and sometimes I just see the best jewelry on an otherwise ordinary outfit. This is a great city for overall style. The food, the clothes, the scenery... aesthetics beyond belief.

Have you ever heard of Fruits magazine?

This one is pretty interesting site:

Your blog is one of my favourite reads right now! As street style sites go, I really like this one: http://www.style-arena.jp/index_e.htm
Yeah, I used to be really into fruits when I was in high school and I think some of the outfits in there are really cute. Thanks for the link. I used to have the book and buy the magazine at Sophia Books. But I think most of the people in Fruits are about sixteen years old and I'm not really into that sort of style anymore. Recent issues of Fruits have been really weird, too. I think the editor is really into hippies now because all the people he/she seems to feature have tie dyed shirts and long bags made out of hemp... not my style at all.
Thank you Malin! You know that if you link my site to your site, I will get more traffic and you will be making more money for me! This site makes money and it seems like every month I get even more traffic and a little more money, which is so nice. If you like my site, please please link it to yours! It will make me so happy.
How du you make money by traffic? You got me interested now :)
It's called Adsense and basically they run advertisements on your page, and when someone clicks on them, you get some money. It adds up pretty decently if you have enough traffic. If you have a blog, it's a cool program.
Style-arena is absolutely the best I've seen. Definitely check it out. I like the online mags too-- "Men's Nono" and there are TONS of great girl ones.
I'll have to check it out :) Thank you for taking the time to answer.
I don't have any such links on my blog at all right now. It got to the point where my reads were so many and always changing - I just didn't have the time and energy to keep my blogroll up to date. It might change in the future though and if it does I'm sure yours will be there :)

Hey Julie, my mum leaves Tokyo tomorrow :( so I am going to have a little more free time.
I have been thinking...I am also too shy to ask to take photos of street fashion even though I really really want to SO how about we team up and together we might be able to scrape up enough courage to get the street snaps we are looking for.
Oh then ours blogs will be so Tokyo street!
I will call you before the weekend! Sorry it has taken so long we have been shopping like mad women - wildly - and then collapsing at the end of each day after decadent dinners, karaoke or bar hopping! So much to do!

xx
Oh man, yes, I would really be into that. That would even be kind of fun if I had another person to do it with, so I think it's a great idea.
That's awesome that your mom likes Karaoke! I've only done it once, at this Vietnamese restaurant with my friend Jamie and we sang "Phantom of the Opera" and got crazy. But I think it's different over here. I'm glad you had a great time with mum! Call me up anytime!
